A warm and sunny late Summer day was forecast, and taking full advantage, off to Stourhead National Trust garden. The trees are just beginning to turn…in another month the reflection in the water will be glorious.  A wonderful 3 hour walk through the grounds consisting of woodland and lakeside paths…not too many people around being a school day, and a well earned late lunch at The Walnut Tree, Mere. Why is it that most English pubs only serve lunch between 12 and 2pm? Thankfully not so at this excellent pub which is open all day.
