Dragoning up North

George the dragon at St Aidans

Well here I am in Blackburn….4 primary schools to dragon. The bed and breakfast I am staying in is exceptionally comfortable (but there again I can sleep on a washingline!) and if I shut the window, I can’t hear the traffic on the Preston Road. It’s hard to leap out from a high, floomfy bed to do a bit of yoga when the delcious aroma of bacon is ascending the stairs. A few sun salutes and down to breakfast then. The B and B is full of Man United clad engineers doing some sort of courses and moaning about them and the decline of industry in throw away Britain. I feel I am in a bit of a gastronomic wasteland as there is a tantalising smell of curry in the air outdoors but the only eatery within walking distance is a Subway attached to a garage. I did find the delightful Corporation Park yesterday afternoon for a stroll. Beautifully maintained and built in 1857 for the people of Blackburn to enjoy. I hope they appreciate it – there is an alcohol ban in place so there is hope. I went to breakfast in summer attire – the sun was shining. A full English later it’s pouring so quick costume change haha!

Griffin Park and St Aidans await!
