dragoning in Weymouth

Spent a couple of days by the seaside in Weymouth in the sunshine….dragoning some schools – new to the SSDP and big dragon fans was Chickerell Primary school, and a welcome return to dragon Year 3 at Beechcroft St Pauls and Holy Trinity. Very much enjoyed staying in The Beach House B&B again at the quiet end of the sea front.

Wandering around the old harbour offered many photo opportunities and an excellent freshly landed crab sandwich in The Galley. The whole seafront is being spruced up for the sailing events of the Olympics – so many contractors beavering away. Stopped at Burton Bradstock, the fabulous Hive Cafe for a massive chunk of coffee cake and a wander along the Dorset cliff path.
Glorious Spring sunshine and nice and quiet out of school holidays…I love Dorset!

Just a little nature note…walked along the River Thames at Pangbourne near Reading yesterday and saw a playful pair of kingfishers darting about on the riverbank. Irridescant turquoise and brilliant orange…tiny birds…what a fabulous and pretty rare sight!
